Rita Ora Bio
Rita Ora, a British music producer and singer. She was born Rita Sahatciu Ora in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. Besim Sahatciu is the granddaughter of her mother. At age one, her family made the decision to move to the United Kingdom. Her birthplace was in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School at Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing at a young age.In 2004 she appeared in the British film Spivs. The film featured her audition for Eurovision: Your Country is in need of You as a British contestant in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However she walked out of the contest after just a few episodes because she didn't feel ready. In 2007, Ora had her first music release , when she performed on the track by Craig David entitled "Awkward" and then again in 2008 with "Where's Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder, for which she is also featured in the music video. Ora started singing in bars all over London. Roc Nation was told by an A&R agent about Ora in 2009, a couple of days after Ora traveled to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora was featured in Jay-Z's video from 2009 for "Young Forever" as well as "Over" from Drake. Jay-Z noticed Ora and shrewdly signed her up with Roc Nation. She was included in a commercial starring Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was the proprietor of a pub and she began her singing career at that same bar. The singer cites Gwen Stefani as a major influence in the way she conducts herself, and No Doubt's "Don't speak" (1996) as one of her favourite songs.Her video from 2016 for Tezenis, The Silk Code, is the title of a novel which received the Locus Award for Best First Science Fiction Novel of 1999.She was considered seriously to play Iris West in Justice League (2017) before Kiersey Clemons was selected. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran are close friends.
