Maureen O'Hara Biography
Maureen O'Hara is a famous American performer and actress, both of Irish descent. The passionate, fiery roles she appeared in variety of American films were loved by the green-eyed beauty , with flashing hair and fiery eyes. Her beautiful look and natural beauty was well-loved. She was referred to in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her character onscreen was a reflection of her brave, strong spirit who fought for survival and recognition in a world dominated by males. She was known as "the tough Irish girl" and would not sacrifice her respect for others to obtain the roles she was entitled by merit. She stood up for the injustices and unfair treatment of female actors throughout her film career. She also gained a lot if fans. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was released in 2004. It is an honest and candid narrative of her life including the struggles she endured while climbing the ladder to success. She was an active woman who wasn't afraid of making her own mistakes. She appeared in more than 60 films and became a cult celebrity across the globe. Following her departure from Parra and remarried in 1968 with Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a brigadier in the past, former chief pilot, and a pioneer in transatlantic aviation, just to mention some of the accomplishments. A few years into their marriage, she decided to quit her job. Blair died tragically during an airplane crash in 1978. This ended O'Hara's joy. In the same year, she was also diagnosed as suffering from uterine cancer and required to undergo urgent surgery. The cancer was eventually removed. She was diagnosed with six heart attacks, short-term memory loss, and diabetes type 2 over the next years. On 24 October 2015, O'Hara died peacefully in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at 95.
